Why is prevention the primary measure of diligence in foreign body risk management?

Today, our vigilant food manufacturers quite rightly place great importance on risk assessments of potential hazards. Recent incidents involved plastic as the contaminant, highlighting the importance of due diligence at every stage of a production process where typical sources could be from worn equipment components or from crushed and broken utensils.

Prevention must come ahead of detection.

However, plastic remains an entirely suitable material for food production utensils, but it is imperative that they are moulded from the correct material.
