What is indelible marking?
How can indelible marking assist my company?
- Aiding accountability of mobile equipment which could otherwise potentially pose a foreign body risk, such as pens, knives and stop watches. By marking the items with their unique serial number, they can then be easily logged in and out of use, and thereby fully accounted for.
- Demonstrating and ensuring adequate segregation of tools and equipment, such as between allergens, species or different risk areas. Although Klipspringer now offers the widest range of colours available, with 11 distinctly different options, many sites still struggle to demonstrate full segregation due to the complexity of their processes. Indelible marking therefore means that equipment can also be differentiated using words, for example, with allergen names – soya, lactose, egg etc. Or if language is an added complexity to your on-site segregation procedures, symbols and images can also be marked onto the tools.
- Ensuring the correct equipment is on the correct shadow board. With each Klipspringer shadow board having its unique serial code, this number can also be marked on each utensil to easily associate them to the board.
- Ensuring that calibrated probes and thermometers remain together as a fully calibrated unit, so that you are not using an inaccurate probe with a recently calibrated unit, or vice versa. Simply marking both the probe handle and the handheld unit with a matching code means that you have full calibration traceability on all your temperature monitoring equipment in use on site.
- Deterring and tracing pilferage of equipment on site. Indelible marking can be used to reduce the costs associated with replacing stolen equipment on site, including scales, thermometers, loggers and mobile tablets. Indelibly marking this equipment with the company name and/or relevant asset numbers means that it is permanently associated with you, reducing the likelihood of pilferage occurring.
- Identifying EziProtekta shoes, with marking on the sole for the users’ names, numbers, areas or shoe sizes for instance.
- Marking weights on site. Stamped weights on site often have no method of being uniquely identified or traced, so indelible marking presents a solution for permanently marking on cast iron, stainless steel or brass weights – without affecting the accuracy of the weights themselves.
